Luggage allowance, conditions of transportation and banned items – find out now for a smooth and easy flying experience.
Passengers travelling on Air Burkina flights may take one item of cabin luggage weighing up to 10 kg. The following items are not permitted in your hand luggage:
- More than 100 ml of liquids, aerosols and gels in one container (this includes creams, lotions, oils, perfume, sprays, shower gel, etc)
- Toy guns
- Catapults, cutlery, knives (of any size), letter openers, razor blades, nail clippers
- Work tools (such as hammers, saws, etc)
- Javelins, scissors, syringes (*)
- Knitting needles
- Baseball bats and similar
- Snooker cues
(*) Passengers may only carry a syringe in their hand luggage if they hold a valid diabetes card or a medical certificate. In addition, passengers travelling with this type of item must inform the check-in staff.

- Economy Class 30 kg
- Business Class 50 kg
- Baby 10 kg
For flights between Ouagadougou and Abidjan:
- Economy Class 40 kg
- Business Class 50 kg
If your luggage exceeds this allowance, you will have to pay a surcharge per additional kilo, prices varying depending on destination.
The following items are banned from luggage :
- Fragile objects and items that may deteriorate: Silver, jewellery, items made from silver or items of value in general
- Samples or business documents
- Explosives, ammunition, fireworks or flares
- Flammable liquids such as refills for cigarette lighters, dye, diluent or solid substances, matches
- Compressed gas cylinders, corrosive materials, flammable liquids or solids
- Oxidising materials such as oxygenating substances or peroxides
- Corrosive materials such as mercury, acids, alkalis and car batteries
- Toxic substances and pathogens
- Radioactive materials, smelly materials and other dangerous goods cannot be taken on board
